  • If using ground beef, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 10-12 minutes.

  • If using ground turkey, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 11-13 minutes.

  1. 1

    Make the Meatballs

In a mixing bowl, combine panko and 3 Tbsp. water. Let sit, 1 minute.

After 1 minute, add ground pork, half the adobo seasoning (reserve remaining for sauce), and 1/2 tsp. salt. Form mixture into 16 evenly-sized meatballs.

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add meatballs to hot pan and stir occasionally until meatballs are browned and reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 10-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add the Vegetables and Sauce

Add pepper and onion mix to hot pan with meatballs. Stir occasionally until tender, 4-5 minutes.

Add remaining adobo seasoning, chicken base, 1/2 cup water, and cornstarch. Stir to combine. Bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir occasionally until sauce thickens, 5-6 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While sauce thickens, continue recipe.

  3. 3

    Cook the Plantains

Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add plantains to hot pan and cook until golden-brown, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Remove from burner.

  4. 4

Prepare Cilantro, Heat Rice, and Finish Dish

    Stem and tear cilantro leaves.

Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Combine rice, minced garlic and chili pepper (to taste), and 1/2 tsp. salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with meatballs, sauce, vegetables, and plantains. Garnish with cilantro leaves. Bon appètit!
