Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

1 Start the Mac and Cheese
Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add flour, 1 1/2 cups water, creme fraiche, and garlic salt to hot, dry pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until slightly thickened, 2-4 minutes.If too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Stir in cheese until melted and combined, 1-2 minutes. -
2 Finish the Mac and Cheese
Add pasta to hot pan and stir occasionally until heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Remove from burner.While mac and cheese cooks, continue recipe. -
3 Heat the Pulled Pork
Drain pulled pork and separate pieces.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat.Add pork and 2 Tbsp. water to hot, dry pan. Stir occasionally until pork is heated through, 1-2 minutes.Stir in BBQ sauce until pork is coated, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner.While pork heats, continue recipe. -
4 Make Slaw and Finish Dish
In a mixing bowl, combine dressing and slaw mix. Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help prepare the slaw.
