Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Cook the Beef
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Remove from burner. Carefully drain any excess fat. Stir in fiesta seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Transfer to a plate. Wipe pan clean and reserve. -
2 Cook the Peppers
Return pan used to cook beef to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add diced peppers and garlic salt to hot pan. Alternatively, reserve half the raw peppers for snacking/serving on the side.Stir occasionally until tender, 8-10 minutes. -
3 Add the Sauce
Return ground beef to hot pan with diced peppers.
Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder (to taste), and salsa (to taste). Stir occasionally until combined and heated through, 1-2 minutes.Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the chili powder and/or salsa.Remove from burner.While sauce heats, continue recipe. -
4 Heat Rice and Finish Dish
Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Place rice in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.Add piri piri seasoning (to taste) and butter and fluff rice with a fork. Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the piri piri seasoning.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with beef and peppers and garnishing with sour cream and cheese.
