To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Roast the Fries

Cut potatoes into 1/4" fries and pat dry.

Place fries on prepared baking sheet and toss with 2 tsp. olive oil, 1/4 the onion salt (reserve remaining for patties), and a pinch of pepper. Spread into a single layer.

Roast in hot oven until browned and tender, 25-30 minutes, tossing fries halfway through.

Carefully remove from oven. Stir in 3/4 the buttermilk-dill seasoning (reserve remaining for crema) and a pinch of salt until combined. Sheet will be hot! Use a utensil.

    While fries roast, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Prepare Ingredients and Make Crema

Core tomato and cut into 1/2" rounds.

Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.

In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, remaining buttermilk-dill seasoning, and 2 tsp. water. Set aside.

Form ground beef into two equally-sized patties, 5" across. Season both sides with remaining onion salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Summertime, and the grilling is easy! To grill this burger, heat grill to medium. Follow same instructions, grilling until browned and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side.

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

Add patties to hot, dry pan. Cook until slightly charred and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side.

Evenly top patties with cheese. Cover and cook until melted, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While patties cook, continue recipe.

  4. 4

    Make the Candied Bacon

Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add onions to hot pan. Stir occasionally until slightly browned, 5-7 minutes.

Add bacon, sugar, and a pinch of pepper. Stir often until bacon is crisp and onions are tender, 3-5 minutes.

If pan is dry, add water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, as needed.

    Remove from burner.

While onions and bacon cook, continue recipe.

  5. 5

    Heat Buns and Finish Dish

Heat buns to your preference using a toaster or microwave.

Alternatively, place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add buns, cut-side down, to hot, dry pan. Toast until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with candied bacon mixture, patty, tomatoes, spring mix, then top bun. Serve crema on the side for dipping fries. Bon appétit!
