Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer. Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help prepare the beans.
Trim and thinly slice green onions. -
2 Cook the Ground Beef
Place a large pot over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground beef, onions, taco seasoning, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pot. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. -
3 Add the Broth
Add vegetable base and 2 1/2 cups water to hot pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

4 Add Vegetables and Finish Dish
Once simmering, add crushed tomatoes, beans, hatch green chiles (to taste), corn, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pot. Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the hatch green chiles.
Stir occasionally until combined and heated through, 2-3 minutes.Stir in a pinch of salt until combined, 20-30 seconds.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with tortilla strips, cheese, chipotle crema, and green onions. Bon appétit!
