Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.
Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate. -
2 Cook the Ground Beef
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef, bell peppers, 1/4 tsp. salt, blackening seasoning, and white portions of green onions to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Drain any excess liquid, if desired. Pan will be hot! Use caution. -
3 Add the Pasta
Add pasta, 3 cups water, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, cover and stir occasionally until pasta is al dente, 7-9 minutes. -
4 Add the Sauce
Uncover and add cream base, cheese, hot sauce (to taste), 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the hot sauce.
Stir occasionally until combined and pasta is coated, 2-3 minutes.Stir in green portions of green onions until combined, 20-30 seconds.Remove from burner.While pasta cooks, continue recipe. -
5 Toast Panko and Finish Dish
Combine panko, 1 tsp. olive oil, Cajun seasoning (to taste), and a pinch of salt on a microwave-safe plate. Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the Cajun seasoning.
Microwave until panko is golden-brown and toasted, 1-2 minutes, stirring once halfway through.Carefully remove from microwave.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with panko. Bon appétit!
