Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |

  1. 1

    Prepare The Ingredients

Stem, seed, remove ribs, and cut red bell pepper into strips.

Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

  2. 2

Cook The Vegetable and Pork Mixture

In a large nonstick pan over medium high heat, add 2 tsp olive oil. Add green pepper and onions to hot pan and cook until tender and lightly charred, 5-6 minutes. Add the green onion bottoms, pulled pork, tomato sauce, and cajun seasoning. Bring to a simmer and heat through.

While pork mixture cooks, heat the rice.

  3. 3

    Heat The Rice

For best results, pierce rice bag a few times with a knife, then break up rice inside the bag. Mix rice with 1 Tbsp. water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave until warm, 2 minutes, stirring once halfway through.

  4. 4

    Finish The Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with green onion tops. Bon appétit!
