Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Shrimp and Vegetables

    Evenly divide pepper and onion mix, 2 tsp. olive oil, and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for shrimp) between both provided trays.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    While vegetables bake, pat shrimp dry.

    After 15 minutes, carefully remove trays from oven. Evenly divide shrimp, 2 tsp. olive oil, and remaining garlic salt between both trays and stir to combine. Spread into an even layer. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Bake Meal and Add Sauce

    Bake both trays uncovered in hot oven until vegetables are tender and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 10-12 minutes.

    While meal bakes, in a mixing bowl, combine tomatoes, blackening seasoning, mustard (to taste), and brown sugar. Set aside.

    Carefully remove trays from oven and drain any excess liquid. Trays will be hot! Use caution.

    Evenly divide sauce between both trays and stir to combine. Spread into an even layer.

    Bake both trays again uncovered in hot oven until sauce is heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While meal bakes, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Meal

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.

    Place rice in a microwave-safe bowl.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork.

    To serve, top rice with shrimp and vegetables. Bon appétit!
