Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Coarsely crush cashews in shipping bag.

    In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, garlic sesame sauce, and 2 Tbsp. water. Set aside. Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help prepare the sauce mixture.

    Cook the Green Beans

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add green beans and cook, 1 minute.

    Add 1/4 cup water, cover, and cook until tender, 6-8 minutes.

    If green beans need more time, add 2 Tbsp. water, cover, and stir occasionally, 1-3 minutes.

    Uncover and stir in garlic pepper and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir occasionally until combined, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While green beans cook, continue recipe.

    Cook the Chicken

    Pat chicken dry. Season all over with garlic salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and cornstarch. Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor.

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add chicken to hot pan. Stir occasionally until chicken is slightly browned and reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.

    Stir in sauce mixture until combined and slightly thickened, 1-2 minutes.

    If too thick, add water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Stir in half the cashews (reserve remaining for garnish) until combined, 30-60 seconds.

    Remove from burner.

    While chicken cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Place rice in a microwave-safe bowl.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Stir in 1/4 tsp. salt until combined and fluff rice with a fork.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping chicken with remaining cashews. Garnish green beans with sesame seeds. Bon appétit!
