Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Bake the Ground Turkey

    Place ground turkey in prepared casserole dish. Combine with 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Break into bite-sized pieces and spread into a single layer. Evenly top with 1 Tbsp. olive oil.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 25-28 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven and drain any excess liquid from casserole dish. Dish will be hot! Use caution.

    Add the Pasta

    Add tomato sauce, pasta, cream base, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, garlic and parsley seasoning, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Stir to combine, breaking up turkey into bite-sized pieces. Dish will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Evenly top with shredded cheese and grated cheese. Cover with foil.

    Bake and Finish Meal

    Bake covered in hot oven until pasta is heated through, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven and remove foil.

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until cheeses are slightly browned, 5-7 minutes.

    While meal bakes, stem basil and tear into pieces. Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help prepare the basil.

    Carefully remove casserole dish from oven.

    To serve, top pasta with basil. Bon appétit!
