Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Start the Chicken and Broccoli
Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before cooking, and after handling raw meat and seafood. Remove all produce from any packaging or constraints, then thoroughly rinse and pat dry.
Break broccoli into bite-sized pieces using hands.Pat chicken dry and season all over with a pinch of salt and pepper.Evenly divide chicken and broccoli between both provided trays. Bake uncovered in hot oven, 15 minutes.While chicken and broccoli bake, continue recipe.Chicken will finish cooking in a later step. -
2 Assemble the Casserole
Coarsely crush crackers and crispy onions.
Massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove from packaging.After 15 minutes, carefully remove both trays from oven. Drain excess liquid from trays. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.Evenly divide garlic salt, rice, cream base, cheese, chicken base, and 1/2 cup water between trays. Stir to combine. Top trays evenly with crushed crackers and crispy onions.Cover trays with foil. -
3 Bake the Meal
Bake covered in hot oven until chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 20-25 minutes.
