Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 10-12 minutes. 

  • If using ground turkey, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 11-13 minutes.

    Form and Cook the Meatballs

    Mince garlic.

    In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, panko, half the soy sauce (reserve remaining for sauce), 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Form mixture into 16 equally-sized meatballs.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add meatballs to hot pan, cover, and roll occasionally until browned all over and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 8-10 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Transfer to a plate and set aside. Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

    While meatballs cook, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

    Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Cook the Vegetables

    Return pan used to cook meatballs to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add bell peppers, broccoli, and white portions of green onions to hot pan. Stir occasionally until vegetables are tender, 6-8 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While vegetables cook, continue recipe.

    Add the Sauce and Meatballs

    Add orange ginger sesame sauce (to taste) and remaining soy sauce to hot pan with vegetables. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, reduce heat to low. Transfer meatballs to pan and stir occasionally until meatballs are warmed through and coated, 3-5 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While sauce cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Place rice in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Add 1/4 tsp. salt and butter to rice and fluff with a fork until butter is melted and combined.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with meatballs and vegetables and garnishing with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
