Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Follow same instructions.

    Roast the Fries

    Cut potatoes into 1/4" fries and pat dry.

    Place fries, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, potato spice seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper on prepared baking sheet. Massage oil and seasonings into fries. Spread into an even layer. Have a little sous chef around? With supervision, have them help season and massage the fries.

    Roast in hot oven until slightly browned, 35-40 minutes, tossing fries halfway through.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While fries roast, continue recipe.

    Season the Chicken

    Pat chicken dry and cut into 1" strips. Season chicken all over with garlic salt and Italian seasoning.

    Coat the Chicken

    Combine panko and 2/3 the cheese (reserve remaining for topping) on a plate. Spread into an even layer.

    Transfer chicken to plate with panko mixture and flip until coated all over, pressing gently to adhere.

    Cook the Chicken

    Line another plate with a paper towel.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add canola oil. Let oil heat, 5 minutes.

    Working in batches if needed, carefully add chicken to hot oil and cook until golden-brown and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 3-4 minutes per side.

    Remove from burner. Transfer chicken to towel-lined plate and evenly top with remaining cheese.

    While chicken cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Sauce and Finish Dish

    Stem and mince parsley. Little ones don't love green things? Feel free to omit parsley.

    Place marinara in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with a paper towel. Microwave covered until heated through, 20-30 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping chicken with parsley. Serve marinara on the side for dipping. Bon appétit!
