To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Prepare Broccoli and Make Crispy Onion Panko
Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
Combine panko and 1 tsp. olive oil on a microwave-safe plate. Spread into an even layer.Microwave until golden-brown and toasted, 60-90 seconds, stirring once halfway through.Carefully remove from microwave and transfer panko to a heat-safe mixing bowl.Add crispy onions to bowl and stir to combine. Set aside. -
2 Cook the Broccoli
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add broccoli, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 2 Tbsp. water to hot pan. Cover and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.Uncover and stir occasionally until broccoli is tender, 2-3 minutes.Transfer to a plate. Wipe pan clean and keep over medium heat. Pan will be hot! Use caution. -
3 Cook Sausage and Make Sauce
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.
Add 2 tsp. olive oil and sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Add minced garlic and parsley and red pepper flakes (to taste). Stir occasionally until garlic is fragrant, 1-2 minutes.Add cream base, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 tsp. salt, and cheese. Stir occasionally until combined and sauce is slightly thickened, 3-4 minutes.If too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. -
4 Add Pasta and Broccoli and Finish Dish
Add broccoli and pasta to hot pan. Stir occasionally until pasta is heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Stir in lemon juice until combined, 20-30 seconds.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with crispy onion panko. Bon appétit!
