Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

  • If using Italian sausage, remove from casing, if necessary. Break up sausage until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Core tomato and cut into 1/2" dice.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Cook the Filling

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

    Add ground beef, white portions of green onions, taco seasoning, and garlic salt to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Drain any excess liquid, if necessary. Stir in softened cream cheese until combined.

    Assemble the Quesadillas

    Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel. If tortillas come folded, keep folded.

    Microwave until heated through, 30-60 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Place tortillas on a clean, flat work surface.

    Evenly divide filling between tortillas, placing on one half. Top filling with half the cheddar (reserve remaining for topping). Fold tortillas over filling, pressing gently to adhere.

    Top the Quesadillas

    Place quesadillas on prepared baking sheet and evenly spray with cooking spray.

    Evenly top quesadillas with remaining cheddar.

    Bake Quesadillas and Finish Dish

    Bake in hot oven until quesadillas are golden-brown and cheddar is melted, 5-8 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping quesadillas with nacho/taco cheese, tomatoes, and guacamole (to taste). Garnish with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
