Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

If using Italian sausage, remove from casing, if necessary. Break up sausage until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Core tomato and cut into 1/2" dice.
Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate. -
2 Cook the Filling
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef, white portions of green onions, taco seasoning, and garlic salt to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Remove from burner. Drain any excess liquid, if necessary. Stir in softened cream cheese until combined. -
3 Assemble the Quesadillas
Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel. If tortillas come folded, keep folded.
Microwave until heated through, 30-60 seconds.Carefully remove from microwave. Place tortillas on a clean, flat work surface.Evenly divide filling between tortillas, placing on one half. Top filling with half the cheddar (reserve remaining for topping). Fold tortillas over filling, pressing gently to adhere. -
4 Top the Quesadillas
Place quesadillas on prepared baking sheet and evenly spray with cooking spray.
Evenly top quesadillas with remaining cheddar. -
5 Bake Quesadillas and Finish Dish
Bake in hot oven until quesadillas are golden-brown and cheddar is melted, 5-8 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping quesadillas with nacho/taco cheese, tomatoes, and guacamole (to taste). Garnish with green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
