Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Start the Green Beans and Orzo

    Trim green beans, if necessary, and break in half.

    Drain shrimp thoroughly and pat dry.

    Combine green beans, 1 Tbsp. water, and 1 tsp. olive oil in one provided tray. Spread into an even layer. Cover with foil.

    In second provided tray, combine shrimp, orzo, 1 1/2 cups water, mirepoix base, and 1/2 tsp. salt.

    Bake both trays (green beans covered, shrimp uncovered) in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    Finish the Green Beans and Orzo

    Carefully remove trays from oven. Uncover shrimp and stir to combine. Shrimp will finish cooking in a later step.

    Drain any liquid from green beans. Stir in potato spice seasoning, cream base, and a pinch of salt until combined. Evenly top with shredded cheese. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil. Have a little sous chef around? With supervision, have them help add the cheese.

    Bake both trays again uncovered in hot oven until green beans are tender and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven and stir half the softened butter (reserve remaining for sauce) into shrimp.

    While meal bakes, continue recipe.

    Make Sauce and Finish Meal

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine cream cheese and 1 tsp. water. Microwave uncovered until cream cheese is melted, 20-30 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Vigorously stir in lemon juice, remaining softened butter, and a pinch of salt and pepper until combined. Microwave again uncovered until heated through, 10-20 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave and stir.

    To serve, top shrimp orzo with sauce. Bon appétit!
