Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

    Start the Orzo

    In one provided tray, combine orzo, 1 1/2 cups water, cream cheese, half the feta (reserve remaining for garnish), and mirepoix base. Cream cheese will melt as meal bakes. Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help prepare the orzo. Cover tray with foil.

    Bake covered in hot oven, 20 minutes.

    While orzo bakes, continue recipe.

    Prepare Shrimp and Add Dressing

    Pat shrimp dry.

    In second provided tray, combine shrimp, mixed peppers, 2 tsp. olive oil, chimichurri seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

    After 20 minutes, carefully remove orzo from oven. Uncover and stir in dressing until combined. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Cover orzo tray with foil.

    Finish the Meal

    Bake both trays (shrimp uncovered, orzo covered) in hot oven until orzo is tender and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove trays from oven. Stir half the tzatziki (reserve remaining for garnish) and 2 Tbsp. water into orzo until combined. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    To serve, top orzo with shrimp mixture. Garnish with remaining feta and remaining tzatziki. Bon appétit!
