Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Halve lemon lengthwise. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half.

    Peel and halve shallots. Slice halves into thin strips.

    Mince garlic.

    Cook the Green Beans and Shallots

    Trim green beans, if necessary.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add shallots and green beans to hot pan and cook, 1 minute.

    Add 1/4 cup water, garlic salt, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Cover and cook until tender and water is evaporated, 6-8 minutes.

    If green beans need more time, add 2 Tbsp. water, cover, and stir occasionally, 1-3 minutes.

    Finish the Dish

    Add garlic to hot pan and stir occasionally until fragrant, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Stir in butter and 2 tsp. lemon juice until melted and combined.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping vegetables with almonds. Squeeze lemon wedges over to taste. Bon appétit!
