  • 1 Colander/Strainer

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Pork Mixture

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add onions to hot pan. Stir often until slightly tender, 3-5 minutes.

    Finish the Pork Mixture

    Drain pineapples in a colander/strainer.

    Add ground pork, half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for rice), and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 6-8 minutes.

    Drain any excess liquid from pan. Add BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir occasionally until combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner and stir in pineapples until combined.

    While pork mixture cooks, continue recipe.

    Make the Slaw

    In a mixing bowl, combine slaw mix, carrots, dressing, mayonnaise, sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rice and remaining garlic salt. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-5 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with pork mixture and slaw. Bon appétit!
