Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Peel, trim, and cut carrot into 1/4" slices on an angle. If carrot is larger than 1" in diameter, halve before slicing.

    Coarsely chop walnuts.

    Stem thyme. Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help prepare the thyme.

    Pat pork chops dry. Season all over with garlic salt, Italian seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper.

    Cook the Pork Chops

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add pork chops to hot pan. Cook until golden-brown and chops reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-5 minutes per side.

    Pork thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner chop, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

    While pork cooks, continue recipe.

    Cook the Carrots

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add carrots, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover and stir occasionally until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.

    Alternatively, reserve half the raw carrots for snacking/serving on the side.

    Uncover and add plain butter, honey, 1 tsp. thyme, walnuts, and a pinch of pepper. Stir occasionally until combined and carrots are coated, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While carrots cook, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice, Make Crema, and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rice and 1/4 tsp. salt.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave and stir in softened roasted garlic and herb butter until combined.

    In another microwave-safe bowl, combine pesto, creme fraiche, and 1 Tbsp. water.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 30-45 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave and stir to combine.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pork with crema. Bon appétit!
