Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Sausage and Broccoli

    Break broccoli into bite-sized pieces using hands.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary, and break into bite-sized pieces.

    Combine sausage, broccoli, garlic pepper, 1 tsp. olive oil, and red pepper flakes (use less if spice-averse) in one provided tray.

    Prepare the Pasta

    In second provided tray, combine pasta, cream base, ricotta, garlic salt, lemon juice, and half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for garnish).

    Cover tray with foil.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake both trays (Italian sausage and broccoli uncovered, pasta covered) in hot oven until broccoli is tender, pasta is heated through, and Italian sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 25-30 minutes.

    Carefully remove both trays from oven.

    To serve, top pasta with Italian sausage-broccoli mixture. Garnish with remaining Parmesan. Bon appétit!
