Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Start the Filling

    Remove Italian sausage from casing.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

    Add 1 tsp. olive oil, Italian sausage, and onion to hot pan. Break meat into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Finish Filling and Assemble Quesadillas

    Add marinara and minced garlic and parsley to hot pan. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, remove from burner.

    Place tortillas on a clean work surface. Divide filling equally between tortillas, placing on one half. Top with mozzarella. Fold tortillas over filling.

    Cook the Quesadillas

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Working in batches, add quesadillas to hot pan. Cook until golden brown, 1-2 minutes per side.

    Repeat with remaining quesadillas.

    Replenish oil, if necessary.

    Remove from burner.

    Make Sauce and Finish Dish

    In a mixing bowl, combine crème fraîche, ricotta, garlic pepper, a pinch of salt, and 1 Tbsp. water. Set aside.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, cutting quesadillas into smaller triangles and serving sauce on the side for dipping. Bon appétit!
