Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

    Start the Vegetables

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add bell peppers and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for beef) to hot pan. Stir occasionally until tender, 6-8 minutes.

    Finish the Vegetables

    Add bok choy and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir often until tender, 3-5 minutes.

    Not everyone loves bok choy; feel free to omit or modify to taste.

    Stir in soy sauce and sesame seeds.

    Remove from burner.

    While vegetables cook, continue recipe.

    Cook the Beef

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

    Add ground beef, onions, and remaining garlic salt to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. Carefully drain any excess grease from pan, if desired.

    Stir in BBQ sauce (to taste) and yuzu dipping sauce until combined and heated through, 30-60 seconds.

    Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the BBQ sauce.

    Remove from burner.

    While beef cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Place rice in a microwave-safe bowl.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork and season with 1/4 tsp. salt.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with beef mixture and vegetables. Garnish beef with wonton strips. Bon appétit!
