Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Biscuits

    Combine biscuit mix, half the bacon (reserve remaining for topping), and 1/2 cup water in a mixing bowl. Stir until a thick and tacky dough forms.

    Spoon four even dollops of biscuit dough on prepared baking sheet, leaving 3" of space in between. Top biscuits with remaining bacon.

    Bake the Biscuits

    Bake in hot oven until biscuits are golden-brown, 12-15 minutes.

    While biscuits bake, continue recipe.

    Make Cheese Sauce and Finish Dish

    Place a small pot over medium heat. Add crème fraîche and 1 Tbsp. water to hot pot. Stir often until crème fraîche is melted and combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Add cheese, mustard, garlic pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir until combined and smooth, 2-3 minutes.

    If too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, serving cheese sauce on the side for dipping. Bon appétit!
