Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

  • If using Italian sausage, break up sausage until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

    Cook the Orzo

    Once water is boiling, add orzo and cook until al dente, 4-5 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Reserve 1 cup orzo cooking water. Drain orzo in a colander/strainer and set aside. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

    While orzo cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Finely chop artichokes.

    Coarsely chop spinach.

    Combine panko and 1/2 tsp. olive oil on a microwave-safe plate. Spread into an even layer.

    Microwave until golden-brown and toasted, 1-2 minutes, stirring once halfway through.

    Pat shrimp dry and season all over with garlic pepper and a pinch of salt.

    Cook the Shrimp

    Return pan used to cook orzo to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add shrimp to hot pan and cook until pink and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Transfer shrimp to a plate. Keep pan over medium-high heat.

    Make the Sauce

    Add artichokes, spinach, and lemon n herb seasoning to hot pan. Stir occasionally until spinach is wilted, 1-2 minutes.

    Add cream base, pesto, 1/4 cup reserved orzo cooking water, a pinch of salt, and half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish). Stir occasionally until cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes.

    If sauce is too thick, add additional reserved orzo cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Add Shrimp and Orzo and Finish Dish

    Stir orzo into hot pan until combined.

    Top with shrimp in an even layer. Cover, and cook undisturbed until warmed through, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping orzo mixture with remaining cheese and panko. Bon appétit!
