Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |

- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" dice.
Pat pork dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. -
2 Cook the Peppers and Pork
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add bell pepper to hot pan and stir occasionally until mostly tender, 4-6 minutes. Add 2 tsp. olive oil and sliced pork. Stir occasionally until browned and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 5-7 minutes.Remove from burner. Stir in taco seasoning until combined. Rest, 3 minutes.While pork and peppers cook, continue recipe. -
3 Heat the Rice
Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Combine rice, 2 tsp. olive oil, and amarillo seasoning in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.
Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.Fluff rice with a fork. -
4 Assemble Burritos and Finish Dish
Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave until warm, 30-60 seconds.
If tortillas come folded, keep folded.Evenly divide rice, pork mixture, cheese, sour cream, and salsa (to taste) amongst tortillas. Fold sides of tortilla toward center, then roll bottom edge towards the top, enclosing sides tightly.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, halving burritos, if desired. Bon appétit!
