Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

  1. 1

    Cook Pasta and Prepare Ingredients

Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 12-14 minutes.

Remove from burner. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander/strainer and set aside. Wipe pot clean and reserve.

While pasta cooks, core tomato and cut into 1/2" dice.

Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef and Tomatoes

Return pot used to cook pasta to medium-high heat.

Add ground beef and onions to hot, dry pot. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

Drain any excess liquid from pot. Pot will be hot! Use caution.

Add garlic salt, steak seasoning, tomatoes, and a pinch of pepper. Stir often until combined and tomatoes are slightly tender, 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the Sauce and Pasta

Add cream base, cheese, and 2 Tbsp. reserved pasta cooking water to hot pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir in pasta, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper until combined, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

  4. 4

    Heat the Tortillas

Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel. If tortillas come folded, keep folded.

Microwave until heated through, 30-60 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

  5. 5

    Assemble Burritos and Finish Dish

Transfer tortillas to a clean, flat work surface. Evenly divide pasta mixture among tortillas, placing in center. Fold sides of tortilla toward center, then roll bottom edge towards the top, enclosing sides tightly.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, halving burrito, if desired. Serve dressing on the side for dipping. Bon appétit!
