Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

  • If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.

    Trim zucchini ends, quarter, and cut into 1/2" dice.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    Cook the Vegetables

    Place a large pot over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add zucchini, bell peppers, and chimichurri seasoning to hot pot. Stir occasionally until lightly browned and tender, 4-5 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Transfer vegetables to a plate. Return pot to medium-high heat; no need to wipe clean.

    Cook the Italian Sausage

    Add 2 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pot. Break sausage into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Add Orzo and Prepare Dill

    Add chicken base, orzo, potato spice seasoning, and 2 1/2 cups water to hot pot. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir occasionally until orzo is al dente and water is mostly evaporated, 8-10 minutes.

    While orzo cooks, mince dill, leaves and stems.

    Finish the Dish

    Add vegetables and tzatziki to hot pot and stir until combined.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping orzo mixture with dill and crispy onions. Bon appétit!
