Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using diced chicken thighs, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes. Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
Mince garlic.Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. -
2 Cook the Pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 10-12 minutes.
Add broccoli. Cook until tender, 2-3 minutes.Reduce heat to medium-high.Reserve 1 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta and broccoli in a colander/strainer and set aside. Wipe pot clean and keep over medium-high heat. Pot will be hot! Use caution. -
3 Cook the Sausage
Add 2 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pot. Break up sausage into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Add garlic and stir occasionally until fragrant, 30-60 seconds. -
4 Add the Sauce
Add cream base, chicken base, ranch seasoning, a pinch of salt and pepper, shredded cheese, and 1/3 cup reserved pasta cooking water to hot pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, stir occasionally until sauce is slightly thickened, 3-4 minutes. -
5 Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Add pasta-broccoli mixture to hot pot. Stir occasionally until coated and heated through, 2-3 minutes.
If too thick, add additional reserved pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta and broccoli with grated cheese. Bon appétit!
