Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Bake the Mashed Potatoes

    Tear spinach leaves.

    In one provided tray, combine mashed potatoes, cream cheese, spinach, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Cream cheese will melt as meal bakes.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until spinach is wilted and potatoes are hot, 17-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Stir vigorously to combine.

    While mashed potatoes bake, continue recipe.

    Bake the Salmon

    Finely crush pecans. Get the kids involved! With supervision, have them help crush the pecans.

    Pat salmon dry and season flesh side with a pinch of salt and pepper.

    Place salmon, skin-side-down, in second provided tray. Top evenly with crushed pecans, pressing gently to adhere.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until salmon is firm and reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 12-15 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While salmon bakes, continue recipe.

    Make Maple Butter, Crisp Bacon, and Finish Meal

    In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and half the smoked maple seasoning (taste and add more, if desired). Set aside.

    Line a microwave-safe plate with a paper towel. Place bacon on towel-lined plate. Microwave until crisp, 30-60 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

    To serve, top salmon with maple butter and garnish mashed potatoes with crispy bacon. Bon appétit!
