Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Italian Sausage and Butternut Squash

    Spray provided trays with cooking spray.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    Break sausage into bite-sized pieces and evenly divide between provided trays. Evenly top sausage with butternut squash, garlic pepper, and 1/4 tsp. salt.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until butternut squash starts to soften, 15-20 minutes.

    Add the Broth

    Carefully remove trays from oven. Evenly divide flour between trays and stir until no dry flour remains.

    Evenly divide cream base, demi-glace, and corn between trays. Add 1/2 cup water to each tray and stir to combine. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Bake Meal and Prepare Parsley

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until soup is bubbling, butternut squash is tender, and Italian sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    While meal bakes, stem parsley and tear leaves.

    Carefully remove trays from oven. Evenly divide butter (to taste) between trays and stir until melted and combined. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.

    To serve, garnish with parsley. Bon appétit!
