Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Cook the Vegetables
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add pepper and onion mix and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until tender, 5-7 minutes.Transfer vegetables to a plate. Keep pan over medium heat; no need to wipe clean. -
2 Cook the Turkey
Add ground turkey, garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes.
Stir in BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, and vegetables until combined, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner.While turkey mixture cooks, continue recipe. -
3 Toast the Rolls
Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Working in batches, add rolls, cut sides down, to hot pan. Toast until slightly browned, 1-2 minutes.Reduce heat to medium. Transfer rolls to another plate. Wipe pan clean and keep over medium heat. -
4 Make Cheese Sauce and Finish Dish
Add bacon to hot, dry pan used to toast rolls. Stir occasionally until crisp, 1-2 minutes.
Add cream base, green hatch chiles (to taste), and 2 Tbsp. water. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir in cheese until melted and combined, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner and stir in a pinch of salt.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling rolls with turkey mixture and cheese sauce.
