Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

1 Cook the Sausage
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.Add sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.While sausage cooks, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare the Ingredients
Stem kale and coarsely chop.
Thinly slice garlic. -
3 Start the Pasta
Add 2 tsp. olive oil, garlic, kale, and red pepper flakes (to taste) to hot pan with sausage. Stir occasionally until kale is tender, 3-4 minutes.
Add pasta and stir often until heated through, 2-3 minutes. -
4 Finish Pasta and Finish Dish
Add cream cheese, cream base, 1/4 tsp. salt, and half the shredded cheese (reserve remaining for garnish) to hot pan. Stir occasionally until combined and cheeses are melted, 1-2 minutes.
If too thick, add water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with remaining shredded cheese. Bon appétit!
