Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Start the Sausage

    Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Remove all produce from any packaging or constraints, then thoroughly rinse and pat dry.

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

    Place Italian sausage in one provided tray. Break up sausage into small pieces and spread into an even layer.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until Italian sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-18 minutes.

    Prepare Mashed Potatoes and Add Sauce

    Add mashed potatoes to second provided tray. No need to drain. Add garlic salt and butter and stir vigorously to combine. Butter will melt as meal heats. Cover tray with foil.

    After 15-18 minutes, remove sausage tray from oven. Break sausage into smaller pieces. Tray and sausage will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Stir in tomato sauce and chimichurri seasoning until combined. Cover with foil.

    Bake Meal and Toast Rolls

    Bake both trays covered in hot oven until heated through, 15-18 minutes.

    While meal bakes, place rolls directly on oven rack, cut side down, in hot oven. Toast until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove trays and rolls from oven. Add Parmesan to potatoes and stir vigorously to combine.

    To serve, top bottom roll with sausage mixture, mozzarella, pepperoni, and top roll. Bon appétit!
