Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Tear spinach. Get the kids involved! With supervision, have them help tear the spinach.
Trim zucchini ends, halve lengthwise, and cut into 1/2” half-moons. Zucchini quantity may vary, but total weight will remain the same. Don't worry; recipe instructions are not impacted.Mince garlic.Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. -
2 Crisp the Bacon
Line a plate with a paper towel.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.Add bacon to hot pan and stir occasionally until crisp, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner. Transfer bacon to towel-lined plate. Wipe pan clean and keep over medium heat. Pan will be hot! Use caution. -
3 Cook the Sausage and Vegetables
Add 1 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Add zucchini, peas, and garlic. Stir occasionally until vegetables are slightly browned and tender, 4-5 minutes. -
4 Add Sauce and Pasta and Finish Dish
Add marinara, cream base, spinach, and a pinch of salt to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, stir occasionally, 2 minutes.After 2 minutes, add pasta. Stir occasionally until coated and heated through, 4-5 minutes.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with bacon and cheese. Bon appétit!
