Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Toast the Panko

    Line a plate with a paper towel.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add panko to hot pan and stir often until golden-brown, 1-2 minutes.

    Transfer to towel-lined plate. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

    Cook the Broccoli

    Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

    Return pan used to toast panko to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add broccoli, garlic salt, and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Cover and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.

    Uncover and stir occasionally until tender, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Stir in a pinch of salt and pepper.

    While broccoli cooks, continue recipe.

    Make Cheese Sauce and Finish Dish

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine cream base, 2 Tbsp. water, cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave covered, 1 minute.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Stir to combine and cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave covered again until melted and bubbling, 1-2 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Stir to combine.

    To serve, top broccoli with sauce and garnish with toasted panko and red pepper flakes (to taste). Bon appétit!
