Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

  • If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Cook the Ground Beef

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

    Add ground beef, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Reduce heat to medium. Transfer ground beef to a plate. Wipe pan clean and keep over medium heat.

    Cook the Broccoli

    Add 2 tsp. olive oil to hot pan.

    Add broccoli, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/3 cup water. Cover and cook until water is almost completely evaporated, 4-6 minutes.

    Uncover and stir occasionally until tender, 2-3 minutes.

    Add the Ground Beef and Sauces

    Add ground beef and any accumulated juices, soy sauce, and garlic sesame sauce to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, remove from burner.

    While ground beef-broccoli mixture cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rice, 1/2 tsp. salt, and sesame oil. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with ground beef-broccoli mixture. Garnish with peanuts, sesame seeds, and Sriracha (to taste). Bon appétit!
