Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Trim green beans, if necessary.

    Peel and thinly slice shallot.

    Crisp the Bacon

    Line a plate with a paper towel.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add bacon to hot pan and stir occasionally until crisp, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Transfer bacon to towel-lined plate. Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

    Cook Vegetables and Finish Dish

    Return pan used to cook bacon to medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add shallots to hot pan and stir occasionally, 30 seconds.

    Add green beans and stir occasionally, 1 minute.

    Add 1/4 cup water, garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper. Cover and cook until tender, 6-8 minutes.

    If green beans need more time, add 2 Tbsp. water, cover, and stir occasionally, 1-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Stir in crisped bacon.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping with cheese. Bon appétit!
