  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

  1. 1

    Cook the Orzo

Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat.

Add 3 1/2 cups water, half the tomato sauce, half the garlic salt (reserve remaining of both for sauce), beef base, a pinch of salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, add orzo. Stir often until liquid is almost completely evaporated, 10-12 minutes.

    While orzo cooks, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef Mixture

Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

Add mixed peppers, red onions, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Stir often until vegetables are slightly browned, 2-3 minutes.

Add ground beef. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

Drain any excess liquid from pan. Pan will be hot! Use caution.

  3. 3

    Add the Sauces

Add remaining garlic salt, steak seasoning, remaining tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, and BBQ sauce to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, remove from burner.

  4. 4

Add Beef Mixture and Finish Dish

Add beef mixture to hot pan with orzo. Stir often until combined and orzo is tender, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping orzo with cheese. Garnish with crispy onions. Bon appétit!
