Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using chicken cutlets, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 3-5 minutes per side. Cutlet thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner cutlet, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Cook the Chicken

    Pat chicken thighs dry and season all over with a pinch of salt and pepper.

    Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add chicken to hot pan. Stir occasionally until chicken browns and reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside.

    While chicken cooks, continue recipe.

    Cook the Tomatoes

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil to hot pan.

    Add tomatoes to hot pan. Stir occasionally until tomatoes soften, 3-5 minutes.

    If you receive one whole tomato instead, not to worry; simply core tomato, cut into 1/2" dice, and proceed with recipe instructions.

    Add the Orzo

    Add spinach (adding in batches, if necessary) to hot pan. Stir occasionally until wilted, 1-2 minutes.

    Add orzo and stir occasionally until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Add cream base and chicken base. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Add Chicken and Finish Dish

    Once simmering, add chicken and any accumulated juices to hot pan. Stir often until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    If too thick, add water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner and stir in garlic salt until combined.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping orzo with cheese. Bon appétit!
