  • 1 Microwave-Safe Bowl
  • 1 Large Non-Stick Pan
  • 1 Microwave
  • 1 Potato Masher
  • 1 Colander/Strainer

Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes. 

  • If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

    Cook the Ground Beef

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

    Add ground beef to hot, dry pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Drain any excess liquid from pan, if desired. Pan will be hot! Use caution.

    Stir in taco seasoning (to taste) and enchilada sauce (to taste) until combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While beef cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Beans

    Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer.

    Mash the Beans

    Place a medium pot over medium heat.

    Add beans, pesto (to taste), 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 cup water to hot pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir occasionally until beans are softened, 3-5 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Mash until slightly chunky. Beans will be hot! Use caution.

    While beans cook, continue recipe.

    Heat Rice and Finish Dish

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rice, piri piri seasoning (to taste), and 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with beans, ground beef, cheese, guacamole (to taste), salsa (to taste), and tortilla strips. Bon appétit!
