Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  • If using filets or sirloin steaks, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

  • If using salmon, pat dry. Add salmon, skin-side up first, and cook until salmon reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Cook the Potatoes

    Cut potatoes into 1" pieces.

Place potatoes and 1 Tbsp. water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a damp paper towel.

Microwave covered until slightly tender, 6-8 minutes.

Carefully remove from microwave and drain any excess liquid.

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add potatoes to hot pan. Stir often until potatoes are tender and slightly browned, 8-10 minutes.

Remove from burner. Stir in ranch seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper until combined.

    While potatoes cook, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steaks

Pat steaks dry. Season both sides with steak seasoning and 1/4 tsp. salt. Steak coloration may vary upon arrival due to packaging processes; steak quality and flavor will not be impacted.

Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add steaks to hot pan and cook until steaks reach desired doneness, or 3-5 minutes per side for medium/medium-well.

Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

Transfer steaks to a plate and tent with foil. Rest, 3 minutes.

Wipe pan clean and keep over medium heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Compote

Core tomatoes and cut into 1/4" dice.

Add 1 tsp. olive oil and bacon to hot pan. Stir occasionally until crispy, 1-2 minutes.

Add tomatoes, BBQ sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir often until tomatoes release their juices, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While compote cooks, continue recipe.

  4. 4

    Assemble Salad and Finish Dish

In a mixing bowl, combine spring mix, cheese, and dressing. Make dinnertime fun! With supervision, have your kid(s) help assemble the salad.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping steak with compote. Garnish salad with croutons. Bon appetit!
