Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

  1. 1

Make the Cornbread Muffin Batter and Cheese Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine corn muffin mix and 1/3 cup water. Stir until a thick batter forms. Set aside.

In another mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, and half the smoked paprika (remaining is yours to use as you please!). Set aside.

  2. 2

Assemble and Bake the Cornbread Muffins

Evenly divide cornbread muffin batter among 4 cups in prepared muffin tin. Cups should be filled about halfway.

Evenly divide cheese filling among cups, placing in center of batter.

Bake in hot oven until slightly browned and starting to crack, 14-17 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

While cornbread muffins bake, continue recipe.

  3. 3

    Crisp Bacon and Prepare Ingredients

Line a microwave-safe plate with a paper towel. Spread bacon evenly on towel-lined plate. Microwave until crisp, 1-2 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

While bacon microwaves, remove any outer or discolored leaves of lettuce. Cut into quarters to create 4 wedges.

Quarter tomatoes. Season all over with a pinch of salt and pepper. If you receive one whole tomato instead, not to worry; simply core tomato, cut into 1/2" dice, and proceed with recipe instructions.

Pat steaks dry. Season both sides with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steaks

Summertime, and the grilling is easy! To grill these steaks, heat grill to medium. Follow same instructions, grilling until browned and steak reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side.

Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add steaks to hot pan. Cook until steaks reach desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well.

Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

Transfer steaks to a plate and cover with foil. Rest, 3 minutes. Keep pan over medium heat; no need to wipe clean.

  5. 5

    Make Sauce and Finish Dish

Add mushroom base and 2 Tbsp. water to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir in 1 Tbsp. butter and mustard (to taste) until combined, 30-60 seconds.

Remove from burner and stir in a pinch of pepper until combined.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping steak with sauce. Slice steak, if desired. Garnish two lettuce wedges with ranch dressing, tomatoes, then bacon. Top two cornbread muffins with 1/2 Tbsp. softened butter. Bon appétit!
