Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, roast until meatballs reach minimum internal temperature, 17-20 minutes.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Trim green beans and halve.

    Peel, trim, and cut carrot into 1/4" slices on an angle. If carrot is larger than 1" in diameter, halve before slicing.

    Start the Vegetables

    Place carrots on one half of prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer. Alternatively, reserve half the raw carrots for snacking/serving on the side.

    Place green beans on empty side of sheet and spread into an even layer.

    Evenly top vegetables with 2 tsp. olive oil and 1/3 the garlic salt (reserve remaining for meatballs). Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help assemble the vegetables.

    Roast in hot oven, 10 minutes.

    While vegetables roast, continue recipe.

    Add the Meatballs

    In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, panko, remaining garlic salt, Italian seasoning, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and half the shredded cheese (reserve remaining for sauce). Form mixture into 16 equally-sized meatballs.

    After 10 minutes, carefully remove sheet from oven and push vegetables to one side of sheet. Sheet will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Place meatballs on empty side of sheet. Evenly top with 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Roast the Vegetables and Meatballs

    Roast in hot oven until vegetables are tender and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Stir softened basil pesto butter and a pinch of salt into vegetables until combined.

    While vegetables and meatballs roast, continue recipe.

    Heat Sauce and Finish Dish

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine cream cheese, remaining shredded cheese, sun-dried tomato pesto, and 2 Tbsp. water.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 60-90 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave and stir to combine.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping meatballs with sauce. Bon appétit!
