Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Hold romaine heart at root end and chop coarsely.
Core tomatoes and cut into 1/4" dice. -
2 Cook the Peppers
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add peppers and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally until tender, 6-8 minutes. -
3 Add the Ground Turkey
Add 2 tsp. olive oil, ground turkey, garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes.
Add sofrito sauce, 1/4 tsp. salt, a pinch of pepper, cream base, and cheese. Stir occasionally until combined, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner.While ground turkey mixture cooks, continue recipe. -
4 Toast Rolls and Finish Dish
Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Working in batches if necessary, add rolls, cut-side down, to hot pan. Toast until slightly browned, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling roll with ground turkey mixture, enchilada sauce (to taste), romaine, tomatoes, and crispy jalapeños (to taste). Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the enchilada sauce and crispy jalapeños. Bon appétit!
