  • If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

  1. 1

    Start the Chili

Place a large pot over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

Add onions, ground beef, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pot. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

Drain any excess liquid from pot. Pot will be hot! Use caution.

While ground beef mixture cooks, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beans

Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer.

  3. 3

    Finish the Chili

Add garlic salt, fiesta seasoning, and chili powder (to taste) to hot pot. Stir occasionally until combined, 1-2 minutes.

Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the chili powder. Add beans, lentils, tomatoes, mushroom base, and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir occasionally until chili is slightly thickened, 10-12 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While chili cooks, continue recipe.

  4. 4

    Make Crema and Finish Dish

In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and pesto (to taste). Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the pesto.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping chili with cheese and crema (to taste). Bon appétit!
