Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Start the Chili
Place a large pot over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add onions, ground beef, and 1/4 tsp. salt to hot pot. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Drain any excess liquid from pot. Pot will be hot! Use caution.While ground beef mixture cooks, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare the Beans
Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer.

3 Finish the Chili
Add garlic salt, fiesta seasoning, and chili powder (to taste) to hot pot. Stir occasionally until combined, 1-2 minutes.
Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the chili powder. Add beans, lentils, tomatoes, mushroom base, and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir occasionally until chili is slightly thickened, 10-12 minutes.Remove from burner.While chili cooks, continue recipe. -
4 Make Crema and Finish Dish
In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and pesto (to taste). Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the pesto.
Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping chili with cheese and crema (to taste). Bon appétit!
