Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground turkey, cook until patties reach minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Roast the Potato Wedges

    Cut potatoes into 1/2" wedges.

In a mixing bowl, combine wedges, 2 tsp. olive oil, potato spice seasoning, half the cheese (reserve remaining for patties), and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Transfer wedges to prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer.

Roast in hot oven until wedges are golden-brown and tender, 25-30 minutes, flipping once halfway through.

    While wedges roast, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Pat pickles dry.

In another mixing bowl, combine tempura mix, 1/4 cup water, and a pinch of pepper until a thick pancake-like batter forms. If too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Set aside.

In another mixing bowl, add ground beef, bacon, garlic pepper, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir until thoroughly combined. Form beef mixture into two equally-sized patties, 5" across.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

Add patties to hot, dry pan. Cook until slightly charred and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side.

Evenly top patties with remaining cheese and add 1 Tbsp. water. Cover and cook until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While patties cook, continue recipe.

  4. 4

    Fry the Pickles

Line a plate with a paper towel.

Place a small pot over medium-high heat. Add canola oil and let heat, 5 minutes.

While oil heats, add pickles to mixing bowl with batter and stir until coated. Test oil temperature by adding a pinch of batter to it. It should sizzle gently. If it browns immediately, turn heat down and let oil cool. If it doesn't brown, increase heat.

Working in batches if necessary, add pickles to hot oil. Fry until golden-brown, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Transfer pickles to towel-lined plate.

    Remove pot from burner.

  5. 5

    Heat Rolls and Finish Dish

Heat rolls to your preference using a toaster or microwave.

Alternatively, place rolls directly on rack in hot oven, cut-side up. Toast until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom roll with patty, BBQ sauce, pickles, then top roll. Garnish potato wedges with dressing. Bon appétit!
