Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Cook the Rice

    Bring a small pot with rice, 1/4 tsp. salt, white portions of green onions (prepared in a later step), and 11/4 cups water to a boil.

    Once boiling, reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes.

    Remove from burner and set aside.

    While rice cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare Ingredients and Quick-Pickle Radish

    Trim and thinly slice cucumber.

    Thinly slice radish.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Mince garlic.

    Combine radish, vinegar, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Set aside.

    Cook the Beef

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Let heat, 3 minutes.

    After 3 minutes, add beef to hot pan and break into 2" pieces. Spread into an even layer and cook undisturbed until dark brown and crisp, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Break beef into smaller pieces and stir occasionally until beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 1-2 minutes.

    Add the Sauce

    Add garlic, ginger, a pinch of salt, and garlic sesame sauce to hot pan with beef. Stir until coated, 30-60 seconds.

    Remove from burner.

    Finish the Dish

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with beef mixture and garnishing with cucumbers, quick-pickled radish, green portions of green onions, and sesame seeds. Bon appétit!
