Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Cook the Rice

    Bring a small pot with rice and 1 cup water to a boil.

    Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook until rice is tender, 18-20 minutes.

    Set aside covered.

    While rice cooks, prepare ingredients.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Cut broccoli into large bite-sized pieces, if necessary.

    Thinly slice garlic.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions.

    Cook the Beef

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add ground beef to hot pan and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until browned, 3-4 minutes.

    Add garlic and cook until aromatic, 30-60 seconds.

    Remove from burner and transfer beef to a plate.

    Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

    Add the Vegetables

    Add broccoli florets to pan and stir often, 4-5 minutes.

    Reduce heat to medium and add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook until broccoli is tender, 2-4 minutes.

    Uncover, and add matchstick carrots, red pepper flakes (to taste), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir occasionally, 2 minutes.

    Finish the Dish

    Add beef and teriyaki glaze. Bring to a boil and remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with green onions. Bon appétit!
