  • 1 Large Oven-Safe Non-Stick Pan

Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Core tomatoes and cut into 1/2" dice.

    In a mixing bowl, combine panko with 2 Tbsp. water. Rest, 1 minute.

    Add ground beef, ricotta, garlic salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for topping). Form mixture into 12 evenly-sized meatballs.

    Cook the Meatballs

    Place a large oven-safe non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add meatballs to hot pan and roll occasionally until browned all over, 4-6 minutes.

    Carefully drain excess fat from pan, if desired.

    Add the Sauce

    Add cream base and pesto to hot pan. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, cover and cook, 5 minutes.

    Remove lid and stir occasionally until meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 2-3 minutes.

    Transfer meatballs to a plate. Keep pan over medium heat.

    Add the Pasta

    Add pasta, tomatoes, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir until combined and heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Evenly top pasta mixture with meatballs, mozzarella, and remaining Parmesan.

    Broil Pasta and Finish Dish

    Transfer to hot broiler and broil until cheese has browned, 2-3 minutes.

    Don't text and broil! Keep an eye on oven as dish may burn easily under broiler.

    Carefully remove from broiler. Pan handle will be hot! Use an oven mitt.
