Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Core tomatoes and cut into 1/2" dice.
In a mixing bowl, combine panko with 2 Tbsp. water. Rest, 1 minute.Add ground beef, ricotta, garlic salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for topping). Form mixture into 12 evenly-sized meatballs. -
2 Cook the Meatballs
Place a large oven-safe non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add meatballs to hot pan and roll occasionally until browned all over, 4-6 minutes.
Carefully drain excess fat from pan, if desired. -
3 Add the Sauce
Add cream base and pesto to hot pan. Bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, cover and cook, 5 minutes.Remove lid and stir occasionally until meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 2-3 minutes.Transfer meatballs to a plate. Keep pan over medium heat. -
4 Add the Pasta
Add pasta, tomatoes, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir until combined and heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Remove from burner. Evenly top pasta mixture with meatballs, mozzarella, and remaining Parmesan. -
5 Broil Pasta and Finish Dish
Transfer to hot broiler and broil until cheese has browned, 2-3 minutes.
Don't text and broil! Keep an eye on oven as dish may burn easily under broiler.Carefully remove from broiler. Pan handle will be hot! Use an oven mitt.Plate dish as pictured on front of card. Bon appétit!
